The Independence Police Department is requesting the public's help in locating a suspect wanted on a charge of attempted murder.

According to an update provided by the Montgomery County Chronicle late Tuesday morning, law enforcement officers were unable to apprehend 39-year-old Brian Medsker in the 500 block of West Myrtle. Police were previously told that he was located in a house in that area, but fled the scene prior to their arrival.

A firearm and other evidence related to Medsker's escape were recovered from the scene. Anyone with information on the location of Medsker is encouraged to contact the IPD. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
