A recent Cherryvale investment project has helped the state of Kansas receive an award focused on economic development.
The Golden Shovel Award, given out by Area Development magazine, is presented to states that attract high-value investment projects that create a significant number of new jobs in their communities. Kansas is only one of five states to receive the award for 2022.
States are required to submit samples of successful economic projects. Cherryvale’s Bartlett Grain Company was chosen as one of those projects, with 50 new jobs added to the community. This is the 2nd consecutive year for Kansas to receive the award. Other projects alongside Cherryvale’s include efforts in Dodge City, Tonganoxie, and Phillipsburg.
