Duo Arrested in Cherokee County

 

A man and woman are arrested in Cherokee County after a report of suspicious activity near a Riverton church.

 

As deputies responded to the area, a man wearing a mask approached a church van carrying a Sawzall. After realizing he had been seen, the man fled the area. Deputies located the vehicle north of Riverton. During the stop, deputies located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles, and tools commonly used to assist with thefts of catalytic converters. Deputies also discovered stolen property.

 

Arrested at the scene of the traffic stop were 35-year-old Zachary Davenport and 39-year-old Leah Anne Isbell. Davenport is being held on a Jasper County felony warrant along with allegations of attempted theft, criminal carrying of a weapon and possession. Isbell is being held on allegations of attempted theft.
