A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Chanute girl in Coffeyville nearly two weeks ago. 20-year-old Makinzey Steeves of Topeka has been arrested in the shooting death of 15-year-old Nasha Gregory of Chanute on March 13th.
Steeves is a co-defendant along with 19-year-old Treyvin Hayes-Smith of Coffeyville who was arrested March 15th. Steeves has been charged with one count of aggravated endangerment of a child, one count of contributing to a child’s misconduct, and one count of interference with law enforcement for falsely reporting a crime.
