A West Mineral man is arrested in Cherokee County after a standoff with officers.

Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a home for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies learned that 46-year-old Larry Overman was armed inside the home and refusing to allow an adult female and numerous children to leave. Deputies approached the home and the woman and several children, including an infant, fled from inside. Overman, however, remained armed inside with several other kids.

After a nearly hour and a half standoff, he was eventually taken into custody. He was transported to the Cherokee County Jail and is being held on allegations of domestic battery, multiple counts of aggravated child endangerment, kidnapping and assault on law enforcement.
