A career-focused program offered through the Kansas State Department of Education is coming to Independence High School.
Work-Based Learning will be offered to IHS upperclassmen starting next school year. The program allows juniors and seniors to combine a student's career goals and workplace experience through partnerships with local businesses. IHS Principal Kurt Seiler said students use time during their school day to explore their career of interest.
Seiler said that Work-Based Learning not only helps students with hands-on experience, it also helps local businesses.
To kick off this program, an event will be held on April 5th at the IHS Cafeteria. To RSVP for this event, contact the high school at 620-332-1815.
