An investigation leads to the arrest of a Cherryvale man for a number of thefts.
Earlier this week, a Montgomery County Sheriff deputy received a lead on a burglary that occurred near Sycamore sometime between September 1st, 2021 and March 11th. A bass boat and multiple other items such as furniture, home décor, clothes, and jewelry were taken. While pursuing the lead the deputy was able to locate some of the stolen property at an address in Independence. The property had been traded for a pickup truck the suspect, who was identified as George Montgomery, was now driving.
Detectives and Deputies were able to bring Montgomery into custody. Detectives learned of more stolen property that was located at four different locations and after obtaining search warrants were able to recover multiple items that had been reported stolen. Montgomery was arrested for burglary, theft and criminal damage.
