Charges have been recommended in the shooting that left one juvenile dead in Coffeyville.

19-year-old Treyvin Xavier Hayes-Smith has recommended charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated endangering a child, contributing to a child's misconduct and interference with a law enforcement officer. Hayes-Smith was arrested Tuesday by the Coffeyville Police Department.  The incident occurred just before midnight on Sunday. CPD Officers responded to the scene to find a juvenile victim from Chanute suffering gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.

CPD says the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are expected.
