Legislation to award the Congressional Gold Medal to members of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion during World War II was signed by President Joe Biden. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran, who presented the legislation, says this bill honors the only all-black, all-female unit to serve overseas.

Moran says the women of the Six Triple Eight have earned a special place in history for their service to our nation. Fellow Kansas Congressman, Representative Jake LaTurner helped pass this legislation through the House.
