The Nowata County assessor has resigned. The commissioners accepted the resignation of Chandee Hawk at yesterday's meeting. Hawk has served in the role since being appointed in October 2019. Commission Chairman Burke LaRue says he is grateful for the work Hawk has done for the county.
Hawk is taking a role with the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The resignation is effective March 13th. The board will need to appoint a temporary replacement, which could be done at the March 14th meeting. The position comes up for election this year.
