Late winter and early spring can be the ideal time for controlled agricultural burning. 911 Dispatch Director Brandy Scott says if you are planning a controlled burn let dispatch or your fire department know.
Scott says letting them know ahead of time keeps them from sending the fire department out to a fire that doesn't need to be put out. She says if a fire does get out of control the first thing to do is call 911. Scott says the same would apply for any non-agricultural related controlled burns like burning brush or trash.
