Higher Pump Prices Reflect War's Dark Uncertainties

 

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has seen crude oil prices spike to over $110 a barrel.   Coffeyville Resources currently has Kansas Common selling for an average price of 97.5 and Oklahoma Sweet for 103.37. The increase in the global price of oil has led to higher pump prices in the U.S. Kansas saw a 15 cent increase which ranked third for the largest increase in the country since last week.

 

In Montgomery and Chautauqua County, residents are paying $3.39/gallon which is 30 cents higher than a month ago while Labette County residents are shelling out $3.34/gallon which is 5 cents lower than the state average of $3.39. Elk County is the lowest in the immediate area at $3.02/gallon.

 

Oklahoma's prices are up 26 cents over the past month to $3.31/gallon. Washington County is currently $3.38/gallon while Nowata County sits at $3.29/gallon.

 

The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.65, which is 12 cents more than a month ago and 93 cents more than a year ago.
