Year in Review: Local Elections

In 2020 a new president, state legislatures and congressmen were all elected but you could say the elections in 2021 were more important. New city commissioners and counselors, school board members and college board members were all elected and will have a more local impact. Sales tax questions were also voted on this year.

KGGF hosted a candidate forum for both the city commissioner candidates as well as candidates for the school board and college board in Coffeyville. Current Mayor and Now Reelected Ann Marie Vannoster says she wants to continue to improve fiscal responsibility in the city.

Besides the elections to fill local offices the City of Coffeyville also voted to extend a sales tax. City Manager Mark Hall says this will be used to make multiple improvements around town.  The sales tax was extended for another ten years. The newly elected candidates and the incumbents will start their new term next month.
