Parsons Couple Arrested in Cherokee County

 

A Parsons man and woman are facing numerous felonies following a traffic stop in Cherokee County.

 

Just before 7:00pm yesterday, a deputy made a traffic stop north of Columbus on Kansas Highway 7 and as the vehicle stopped, the driver and passenger attempted to change positions in the vehicle.  The original driver had a suspended driver's license. During the investigation, a considerable amount of different narcotics and drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of narcotics was located and seized along with nearly $2,000 in counterfeit currency. A juvenile under the age of 10 was also in the vehicle.

 

Arrested at the scene were 31-year-old Kenneth Jones and 24-year-old Bailey Britton. Both were arrested for possession with intent to distribute, possession of multiple different drugs and aggravated child endangerment.
