A new district two commissioner has been appointed for Labette County and now awaits approval from Governor Laura Kelly. Commissioner-elect Terry Weidert says his biggest goal in taking over as a commissioner is to solidify his portion of the county.

One of the biggest issues in the county is the possibility of wind farms. Weidert says this is something he is not in favor of.  Weidert looks to take office sometime in January and says at this time he does plan to run again when he finishes out the rest of this current term.
