A Coffeyville man has pled no contest to first-degree murder in an Independence shooting in 2019. 

Twenty-year-old Benjamin Mason entered the no-contest plea in the shooting death of Kimberly Meeks in Independence.  The no-contest plea to one count of first-degree murder was accepted by District Court Judge William Cullins who has set sentencing for February 15, 2022 at 1:00pm.
