Upcoming Inductions to FKHS Athletic Hall of Fame

Next year will bring new inductions to the Field Kindley Athletic Hall of Fame.

This year's inductions including the 1979 Kansas State Wrestling Championship team and 2014 FKHS graduate Devin Cosper. Each year, a limited number of former student-athletes are selected for the Hall of Fame by committee in recognition of their accomplishments while attending FKHS.

The 1979 wrestling team was known as the "Magnificent Seven" as seven wrestlers qualified for the state tournament. All seven of those athletes placed in their individual weight divisions. That includes Mark Allen (1st), Tod Roberts (2nd), David Hughes (2nd), Benton Howard (3rd), Vincent Stout (3rd), Joey Vacca (4th), and Randy Williams (4th). In addition, head coach Doug Lunt and assistant coach Phil Cagle will be inducted as well.

Cosper was a basketball and track standout for FKHS, winning the 100m dash at the Kansas State Track Meet her senior year. She attended Coffeyville Community College, leading the Jayhawk Conference in scoring and earning first team All-American honors. She then attended the University of Arkansas, where she continued to play basketball.

Next year's induction will take place in between the girls' varsity and boys' varsity basketball games on Friday, January 7th.
