Commissioners Argue Over Budget for Purchase of Radio Equipment

The Labette County commission approved the purchase of new radio equipment for 911 and dispatch, but it didn't come without an argument. Commissioner Lonie Addis disagreed with Commissioner Cole Proehl and Dispatch Director Brandy Grassl on where the money should come from.

The cost of the equipment was around $16,700. Commissioner Proehl and Grassl offered a compromise of splitting the purchases between the two budgets, which Addis eventually agreed to. Until the new district two commissioners are appointed there are only two commissioners so votes can be split 1-1. Commissioner Addis later made a comment to Commissioner Proehl saying he likes knowing in an argument right now he can't be outvoted.
