Parsons police arrested a man mid-dumpster dive behind a Pump-N-Pete's.

Parsons PD was dispatched to the Cardinal Villas in the 1400 block of Broadway for a report of vehicle burglary. Officers discovered that the victim has his vehicle broken into in the parking lot of the Cardinal Villas and was notified through his phone that his debit card was used at the neighboring Pump-N-Pete's, the victim knew he left his wallet in his vehicle. The burglar was found in the dumpster behind the gas station, Roy Cruz Jr., 41 of Parsons, was arrested, during the arrest Cruz assaulted an officer.

Cruz was taken into custody on charges of burglary, theft, criminal use of a financial card, interference with law enforcement, battery of a law enforcement officer, and various drug charges.
