Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign Underway

Law enforcement agencies around Kansas will be participating in a campaign targeted toward combating impaired driving in the state.

The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign officially kicked off yesterday and will continue through the start of January 2022, with the Kansas Department of Transportation and several law agencies throughout the state participating.

According to KDOT data, the week after Christmas and the period around New Year's Day sees the most crashes in which one or more drivers are impaired by the use of alcohol.

KDOT suggests planning ahead to celebrate safely. Designate a sober driver before traveling, call a ride-share service or use public transportation before celebrating. Check to see if sober ride programs are offered in the community during the holidays. Also, prevent others from driving impaired by taking their keys or providing alternative transportation.
