Parsons Police Make Felony Arrest After Chase

 

A Parsons man has been arrested on numerous counts after leading police on a chase throughout Parsons. Last Friday, Parsons police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Crawford to take a report for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was described as a red Nissan Altima with a Kansas tag on it.

 

The next day, police were called to the area of 10th and Main for a report of a vehicle matching that description being in the area. While responding, the vehicle was located going west on Main near 14th Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but when they exited their patrol cars the driver drove off.

 

The driver evaded officers throughout the city reaching approximate speeds of 63mph in residential areas. The driver stopped the vehicle in the 1800 block of Clark in the alley and took off on foot jumping over fences. The driver was then tased by an officer and taken into custody without further incident.

 

The driver was identified as 43-year-old Daniel Roy Adams who had previously been identified as the suspect in the theft. Adams was arrested on December 1st for Theft and Burglary and released while waiting for official charges to be filed by Labette County Attorney's Office.

 

Requested charges on Adams include Motor Vehicle Theft, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended, Probation Violation, Interference with Law Enforcement, and multiple traffic ordinances.
