Early Morning Burglar Arrested in Parsons

A Parsons man was arrested after stealing gaming consoles from a neighborhood home.

Early Wednesday morning, an officer with the Parsons police department was called to the 2100 block of Crawford on a report of someone breaking into a home. The victim reported waking up to take out their dog when they had noticed that the backdoor was damaged. Video surveillance cameras captured a male entering the home and stealing electronics, including an Xbox One S gaming console, as well as a Nintendo Switch.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old William Myers of Parsons. Later that day, officers were called back to the neighborhood after a report that Myers had been seen again. He was identified and arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, criminal damage and theft. The items that had been stolen were located in a backpack during the arrest.

Felony charges are being forwarded to the Labette County attorney's office.
