Christmas time can be a fun but hectic time of year.

 

One of these hectic times can include last-minute Christmas shopping especially for parents who bring their children along. You never want to lose your kid in a store but just in case you do, Independence Police Chief Jerry Harrison says to make sure your child is educated on what to do.

 

When it comes to the holiday traffic Harrison says you need to obey all traffic laws and not drive distracted.

 

For those who do some holiday traveling, he says thieves watch for inactivity at a house because they like easy targets. Harrison says to put your lights on timers and have trusted neighbors check on your house while you are gone.
