Coffeyville Receives $600,000 New Housing Grant

Coffeyville should see a home construction boom thanks to over $600,000 in-home construction assistance from the federal government.  The USDA’s Rural Development has announced it’s investing $624,960 to assist low-income Kansans in building homes in the Coffeyville area.

City of Coffeyville’s Housing Director, Charla Brown says this grant will help to build 20 new homes in Coffeyville.

She adds that Coffeyville is the only city in the state to receive this grant.

Brown says they hope to begin the construction in early 2022.

The formal announcement of the grant will be made at next Tuesday’s City Commission meeting.
