A Caney man has been arrested on multiple drug charges.

Wednesday afternoon, Caney police officers made a traffic stop at 6th and Wood Street due to a vehicle improperly displaying a tag. Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined the driver did not have a driver’s license.

The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Kenneth Hufferd was on community corrections in Montgomery County. Hufferd was found to be in possession of a drug pipe on his person. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and methamphetamines. Hufferd admitted the drugs belonged to him.

Hufferd was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle was cited and released.
