Parsons police are investigating car thieves that might be targeting certain vehicles in the area.

 

Officers received three calls between Sunday and Monday in regards to either attempted theft or theft of a vehicle. It is believed that the thieves have been targeting GM pickups and Blazers in the model years of 1994 to 2004. These specific models can have their ignitions compromised easily.

 

There is no suspect at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing. Parsons police chief Robert Spinks suggests everyone practice a "It's Time to Lockup 9PM Routine," consisting of locking all vehicles, storing away all valuables, and activating any exterior lights or security systems.
