A Weir man has been arrested on several domestic abuse charges.

Late Monday night, Cherokee County Deputies were investigating a physical altercation in which a household member was allegedly keeping the victim, who sustained injuries during the incident, from escaping and seeking help.

After concluding the investigation, Deputies arrested 42-year-old Matthew Billington on allegations of Aggravated Domestic Battery and Kidnapping. He is currently being held on a $40,000 bond.
