Three people are facing charges and are in custody in the Montgomery County Jail after a raid in Independence.  The three face various drug and counterfeiting charges following a raid at a West Laurel residence in Independence around 10:00 Friday night.

The raid involved the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the Independence Police Department and agents with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.  Booked into the jail were Brandy Mularkey on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, Ernest Hufferd on a Montgomery County warrant for failure to return after a medical furlough and Adeline Mattes on charges of counterfeiting and forgery..
