Big Crowds for Saturday's Neewollah Events

Thousands of people turned out to Riverside Park in Independence Saturday for the first full day of Neewollah activities.  Rain and thundershowers threatened to put a damper on the activities but by 10am precipitation moved out of the area paving the way for big crowds to turn out.  Enthusiastic crowds turned out to sample chili in the annual Chili Cook-off,  participate  in the 5k, 10k and fun run and later in the day the kick-off to the medallion Hunt and a theatrical production of “The Wizard of Oz at Memorial Hall.

For the next couple of nights Queen Neelah activities take center stage at Memorial Hall with carnival and food vendors moving in downtown on Wednesday.
