Coffeyville PD Receives Grant from AG-Led Council

 

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has announced the awarding of a grant to the Coffeyville Police Department.

 

The grant is part of the Federal Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. CPD will receive $2,672, and will be using those funds to upgrade crime scene lighting systems. That will better allow the department to respond in situations that require negotiations and investigations.

 

Schmidt said the the grant will help the department carry out its mission throuh the application of "21st century technology." The grant is awarded by the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Schmidt serves as the chair of that council.
