A Nowata County man was arrested on October 2nd for domestic assault and battery by strangulation. 38-year-old Andrew Vanzant is accused of strangling his girlfriend where they were living in Northeast Nowata County.
Vanzant was hiding in a camper that was locked from the outside when South Coffeyville Officers and Nowata County Deputies arrived on the scene. Further investigation into the incident revealed that Vanzant has been accused of banging his girlfriend's head on the kitchen floor and threatening to throw her body into a river. Vanzant is currently jailed and has a $10,000 bond.
