One man is dead following a fatality crash in Parsons.

Parsons PD responded to reports of a vehicle that had collided with a tree then caught fire. A local neighbor was able to put out the fire and it was reported by the driver, Harold Whetzel, that the accelerator had stuck thus causing the crash.

Harold and Bette Whetzel were both transported to Labette Health by EMS. Harold was later transported to Tulsa, where he passed due to his injuries. Bette is in critical condition at Freeman Hospital.
