The Independence Police Department and USD 446 are working together to protect students and staff from becoming victims of TikTok challenges. IPD is aware of a recent social media trend that challenges students to damage school property, steal from the school, and make unwanted physical contact with people on school campuses.

IPD warns students that any TikTok challenges that violate the law will result in arrest and criminal charges. Police Chief Jerry Harrison says the schools are known as safe places to teach and learn and IPD intends to keep it that way.
