The superintendent of Coffeyville schools has been named as a finalist for a prestigious award.

Dr. Craig Correll is one of three finalists for the Kansas School Superintendent Association's "Superintendent of the Year" award. Previously, he had been one of 12 superintendents nominated for the award back in June.

Eight of those 12 nominees completed an application process including completing questions regarding community engagement and student success. Nominees also completed a personal video.

Over the next two weeks, the three finalists will be interviewed by a committee comprised of former superintendents of the year. The other two finalists are Dr. Wayne Burke of USD 230 Spring Hill and David Grover of USD268 Cheney. The winner will be announced during the week of October 18th.
