A Coffeyville man is arrested in Caney on burglary and drug charges. Yesterday around 2:30am, the Caney Police Department was notified of a burglary in progress at the apartment complex located at 215 E. 10th St. Officers arrested 47-year-old Jarod Wayne Johnston at the scene.

Investigation into the incident revealed Johnston had cut a screen on a window to climb through. The occupant of the apartment saw Johnston and called the police. The victim and Johnston had been in a previous relationship but were not together at this time. Johnston was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he faces charges of aggravated burglary, possession of opiates and possession of marijuana.
