Crawford County Man Arrested After Police Chase

 

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on multiple counts including Fleeing and Eluding.

 

Yesterday afternoon, the Crawford County Sheriff's received a complaint about a green Ford Mustang driving erratically in Opolis. A Deputy located the vehicle at a residence in Opolis and ran the license plate which came back stolen out of Labette County.

 

The Deputy located three individuals in front of the residence when two of them jumped in the Mustang and fled. A police pursuit ensued which ended when the suspect struck the culvert near the U.S. 69 and K-171 intersection. Both William Kukovich and 29-year-old Courtney Heckert were transported to Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg. Further investigation found that the car has been stolen out of Vernon County, Missouri.

 

Upon his release from the hospital, Kukovich was arrested got Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of Stolen Property, and Driving While Suspended. He was also booked on two outstanding warrants.
