A man from Pittsburg is in custody following an attempted burglary.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from a resident at 1036 East 530th Ave, reporting that a man had forced his way through the resident's back door. The subject later identified as 56-year-old, Micheal Lane Pruett ignored the requests of law enforcement, Pruett was then hit by taser and pepper ball rounds with little effect.

Pruett ran into the house and proceeded to cut his throat with a knife. He was rushed to Ascension Via Christi where he received medical treatment. Pruett left the hospital on foot, against medical advice, then later was taken into custody on charges of aggravated burglary and assault.
