The Galena Fire and Police Departments received a donation of $600 from Vietnamese travelers from the Houston and Austin Texas areas. The travelers were on Route 66 and they come through Galena about every three years.
Every time they go through Galena they are impressed with the town and wanted to give back. They donated $600 to the Fire and Police Departments because of the jobs they do to keep people safe.
