Coffeyville voters will head to the polls on November 2nd to decide if they want to extend the existing ½-cent sales tax that is set to expire on September 30th, 2022. The sales tax would be re-purposed for a number of different items around town.
Coffeyville City Manager Mark Hall explains how the sales tax extension will be used.
Hall went on to say that since this is a sales tax, that it won't only be the citizens paying for the improvements.
If the measure is approved by voters, the ½-cent sales tax will be collected for a 10-year period. At the end of the 10-year period, the tax will sunset and is only renewable by voter approval.
