The opportunity to lease farmland is important for most young agricultural producers. K-State Agricultural Economics Researcher Chelsea Arnold says most landowners are willing to lease to the young producers, but they view them as more of a risk.

Arnold says once a young producer has established a reputation with the landowner it can be a long-lasting relationship and that's why landowners look at young producers as viable tenets.
