Due to a mass amount of community support and volunteers the rides and miniature golf WILL be in operation this weekend. After voicing the lack of staff at the park, several volunteers stepped up and will undergo the training needed to ensure the park is running at 100%

Previous Story:
Some of the activities at Riverside Park in Independence won't be available over Labor Day Weekend. The park will be unable to provide train and carousel rides or miniature golf throughout the weekend, tomorrow through Monday. According to the city, this is due to staffing shortages.
The Ralph Mitchell Zoo and Miss Able’s Snack Shack will operate according to normal hours over the weekend. The zoo will be open from 9:00am to 7:00pm and the concessions stand will serve from 11:00am to 5:00pm tomorrow and Sunday. The city hopes to resume normal ride operations next weekend, Saturday, September 11th, and Sunday, September 12th, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
