Residents of Chautauqua County who are identified as close contacts will only need to quaratine a maximum of 14 days.

The Chautauqua County Board of Commissioners expressed reservations at a 28-day quarantine period brought about by following KDHE guidelines. Commissioner Parker Massey said he has to consider the ramifications of such a long quaratine.

The commissioners' vote sets the maximum, but those will test positive will still need to quarantine for the full 14 days. Further questions on quarantine length should be directed to the Chautauqua County Health Department.
