Parsons PD Investigating Stolen and Burnt City Vehicle

The Parsons Police Department is investigating a incident in which a city-owned vehicle was stolen from a cemetary.

Officers were called to the scene of a vehicle fire Monday at the 3500 block of Southern. Shortly after arriving, it was determined that the 2003 Ford F150 was owned by the city.

Officers then went to Oakwood Cemetery and found that there was an open gate between the cemetery and Marvel Park. Officers also discovered a garage door and a window had damage on it from being pried open. There was a video camera in place at the building, but the camera's storage devices had been stolen as well.

Chief of Police Robert Spinks said they would exhaust every effort to capture the criminal. This is the second vehicle that has been stolen from the cemetary, with the culprit evading arrest in the first instance. Anyone with further information on the crime is encouraged to contact the Parsons Police Department.
