A fatal crash in Cherokee County has left one person dead over the weekend. A 2002 Buick La Saber driven by 79-year-old Klonie Smith of Coker, Alabama was eastbound on Southeast Bagdad Road when he went off the roadway to the left.

The rear end of the Buick hit a tree which forced it to spin. The vehicle then struck another tree when it came to rest off the roadway. Coker was wearing his seat belt.
