Dewey Man Arrested on Recommended Drug Charges

 

A Dewey man was arrested in Caney after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

 

Officers with the Caney Police Department conducted the traffic stop at 6th and McGee on Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 58-year-old Kelly Stokes from Dewey, Oklahoma. Officers determined he had been driving on a suspended license.

 

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Stokes was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was booked on recommended charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and driving on a suspended driver's license.

 

Those recommendations have been forwarded to the Montgomery County Attorney's Office.
