Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, like the majority of hospitals around the country, are seeing staff, hospital rooms and resources spread thin. Dr. Michelle McGuirk says this is related mostly to COVID-19.

Dr. McGuirk says the lack of resources is affecting patients who need long-term care, standard care or even routine surgeries.  While the vaccines are not 100% effective those who are vaccinated and caught COVID did recover more quickly with minimal symptoms.
