Gas prices in Kansas and Oklahoma have continued to fluctuate over the past month even though demand is starting to drop.
Montgomery County residents are paying $2.98/gallon which is up 10 cents at the same time last month while Labette County residents are paying $2.94/gallon which is one cent higher than the state average of $2.93. Chautauqua County is $3.00 and Neosho County is the lowest in the immediate area at $2.85.
Gas prices in Oklahoma are unchanged over the past month at $2.88/gallon. Gas in Washington County has dropped since last month by 16 cents to $2.78 which is the second cheapest price in the state. Nowata County is up to eight cents to $2.86.
The national average of $3.18/gallon is a penny less than a week ago, two cents more than a month ago and over a dollar more than a year ago. After the Labor Day weekend, pump prices will likely drop which should bring some relief to motorists.
