Parsons has been chosen for a new regional criminal justice training site. Executives throughout Southeast Kansas met to establish a criminal justice training site. The meeting was convened by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. KLETC is in the process of dividing the state into regional training groups and then locating a site where ongoing criminal justice training would be held.

This will provide more training in centralized areas and reduce travel costs to agencies. Parsons was unanimously picked in large part because they are in the design stages for a new public safety center. KLETC is hoping to be operating locally within the next 90 days.
