The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating a body that was found in the Verdigris River. Yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm, deputies along with Coffeyville Police, Fire Department, and EMS and the Dearing Rule Fire District were dispatched to the Verdigris River bridge located on east 8th street in reference to a body in the river.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located what appeared to be a white male. Firefighters were able to successfully remove the body from the river. Sheriff Ron Wade said this incident is currently being investigated and no further information is going to be released at this time, including the identification of the subject. According to Sheriff Wade, foul play is not suspected at this time.
