Over forty people were present at the most recent wind energy meeting in Labette County, including two county commissioners and a wind energy company representative. RWE Project Developer Brandon Hernandez says the information presented at the meeting was one-sided.

Even though Hernandez was not set to speak during the meeting he did answer many questions but was sometimes aggressively cut off by multiple members of the audience. Commissioner Cole Proehl also spoke saying his goal is to protect the county's interests as a whole.  

Those who spoke during the meeting and the majority of those in attendance do not support the expansion of wind energy into Labette County. Hernandez said they are currently conducting studies in the county and those could take until 2022 or 2023 to finish.
